12 days Taste of Nepal with Trek
Nepal is one of the world’s extraordinary countries: a geographical wonder and ethnological crossroads. With rich culture, history and one of the most dramatic sceneries in the world - Nepal is a land of discovery, peace and natural beauty. This trip is one of the best trip for beginners to experience the unique Himalayan culture and traditions along with a short and sweet trekking at the foothills of the Himalayas.

The trek is in the most beautiful Annapurna region in Nepal which is the land of cultural, ethnical and geographical diversity. The adventure starts with a scenic flight to Pokhara passing through beautiful mountain towns. Then you hike for 5 days through picturesque village and valleys, staying at local lodges, mixing with the people and their unique way of life and sampling the breathtaking scenery.  The region is also home of the world famous brave Gorkha soldiers. The trip is combined with mystical Kathmandu, colorful Lake City Pokhara and fascinating Chitwan National Park. Overall the trip is unique blends of natural, cultural, spiritual and jungle experiences.

About Hike: This hike is moderate and does not require any previous trekking experience. It only requires that you be able to hike for 4-5 hours a day over hilly terrain with a light day pack. The walking hours mentioned in the itinerary are slow pace walking with several break. Most of the walks are uphill or downhill.  Your duffle bag will be carried by porter. You have to carry only a light daypack with water bottle, camara etc.

Accommodation & food on hike: The trek is not luxury, but comfortable. It is more absorbing into local environment than taking pictures from distance. The accommodations at local lodges on trek are basic but clean & comfortable. Attached bathrooms are not guarenteed at all places, but multiple communal western toilets and hot showers are available. Foods are fresh but simple such as rice, vegetables, lentils, chickens, bread, butter, cheese, eggs, soups, cereals, tea, coffee etc.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in Kathmandu valley, representing elegant architecture, refined culture, colorful bazaars and simple hospitable people. Today you will visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Begin you day with visiting the Soyambhunath stupa on a hillock over looking Kathmandu valley. Well known as ‘Monkey Temple’ the golden spire crowning, Soyambhunath is the most ancient and mystical of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Then visit Patan where, you may have an opportunity to meet the living goddess Kumari. The meeting depends upon availability. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples and palace courtyards. You can also visit Nepali Handicraft Shop in Patan for authen Nepali handicraft. Later, visit Boudhanath, possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration and Tibetan cultural. Visit Tibetan monastery and Thanks painting school.  Overnight at hotel.

Note: Today you will have an option of early morning Everest flight that takes you deep into the Himalayas, flying along the Himalayan ranges.

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara: A short scenic flight takes you to Pokhara. Nestled beneath the Himalayas, Pokhara is famous for its tranquil lakes, natural beauty and superb scenery. After check in at hotel, you will have time explore colorful Fewa Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Baskot / trek to Dhampus (1750): Take a short drive to Baskot, and then trek to Dhampus passing beautiful villages with breathtaking views. The trek begins with climbing stone staircase about 1 ½ hours. Then walk through terraced fields and ridges of Dhampus with spectacular views of Himalayas in the north and beautiful valleys in the south. In about 4 hours’ medium pace walk, you will reach at beautiful village of Dhampus. Situated at a ridge with breathtaking views of the Himalayas, Dhampus is a beautiful village with stone houses. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Landruk (1620m): Walk through a beautiful forest passing the village of Pothana where your Annapurna Conservation Area permit is checked. Then you will climb to a pass of 2150m before a steep descent to village of Tolka. From Tolka, the trail is almost level and passes through beautiful hamlets and fields. Landruk is a picturesque village above the Modi River with close up views of Annapurna and Fish Tail mountains. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk (1970m): From Landruk, the trail makes a steep descent through terraced fields to Modi River. Crossing the river on a suspension bridge, the train climbs all the way to Ghandruk. Situated at 1970 meters, Ghandruk is one of the most beautiful villages of Nepal. You will arrive at Ghandruk for lunch. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 07: In Ghandruk (1970m): Ghandruk is one of the most beautiful villages of Nepal. It is a village of ethenic Gurung people and home of brave Gurkha soldiers. After breakfast hike to surrounding hills and explore village after lunch.  Overnight at local lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Nayapool (1100m), drive to Pokhara: From Ghandruk you will descend all the way to Birethanti, a beautiful village on the bank Modi River. After lunch at Brethanti, there is a short level walk to Nayapool where we meet the road. From Nayapool, we drive to Pokhara which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Drive to Chitwan National Park: After breakfast you leave for Chitwan National Park. It is a beautiful drive through scenic river George and flat fertile land of Tarai in southern Nepal. Overnight at hotel.

You will stay two nights at Chitwan village close to Chitwan National Park. This two days Chitwan package includes different activities such as Elephant Back Safari, Bird Watching, Village Visit with Bullock Card Ride, Boating in Rapti River & Elephant Briefing/Bathing etc.

Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique ecosystem significantly valuable to the whole world. The park is UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the last populations of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and home of the Bengal tiger. Overnight at jungle lodge.
