Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon: Upon arrival at International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will receive and escort you to hotel.

The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in Kathmandu Valley, representing elegant architecture, refined culture, colorful bazaars and simple hospitable people. You will visit seven UNESCO World Heritage sites during your stay in Kathmandu.

Many monuments are damaged by the 2015 earthquake, but there are still many things to see. Renovation of damaged palace and monuments are taking place since 2016.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square – a medieval palace of Kathmandu. You will be impressed by the peerless sights, sounds and smells of this energetic place as you pass local markets and streets.

Day 02: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley: Visit the Soyambhunath stupa on a hillock over looking Kathmandu valley. Well known as ‘Monkey Temple’ the golden spire crowning, Soyambhunath is the most ancient and mystical of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley.
Then visit Patan - the first city of Nepal. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples and palace courtyards. You can also visit Nepali Handicraft Shop in Patan Industrial Zone for authentic Nepali souvenirs. Late afternoon, you’ll visit Boudhanath, possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration and Tibetan cultural. Visit Tibetan monastery and painting school.

Day 03: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley: Visit ancient UNESCO site of Changu Narayan temple. Then drive to Bhaktapur - the "city of devotees" lies 14 km east of Kathmandu. It is the home of medieval art & architecture and still retains its rich medieval aroma. A city of farmers, Bhaktapur is also known for its pottery and weaving. The intricately carved temples, alleyways and timeless atmosphere of this place are simply fascinating. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is located in the center of Bhaktapur. The Square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights some of the finest medieval arts of Nepal. Then visit another UNESCO site of Pashupatinath which is the seat of the national deity. Situated at the holy river Bgmati,  Aryaghat of Pashupati is the most sacred and popular cremation site of Nepal.

Day 04: Fly to Lhasa / drive to Tsedang (3500m) 90 km: The adventure starts with an eye-opening flight to Lhasa flying over Himalayas. You will be met at Gonggar Airport by your Tibetan guide. After immigration formalities, you will be driven to Tsedang. It takes around 1 hour plus to reach the old city. After checking in at your hotel, you are advised to take rest and avoid exertion for acclimatization.

Day 05: Sightseeing in Tsedang / drive to Lhasa (3650m) 190 kms: Tsedang is the cradle of Tibetan civilization and the area is filled with important historical landmarks. You will visit Yambulakhang - the first Palace of Tibet dates back to 2nd century BC and Tandruk monastery which had a long history and boast many sculptures and paintings from ancient times.  By visiting legendary Tsedang, you will not only explore origins of Tibet, but also enjoy the spectacular landscape of Yarlung Tsangpo Valley. Then you will have a beautiful drive to Lhasa with breathtaking views following the Yarlung and Lhasa River. After check in hotel, you will have time to stroll around the colorful  Barkhor Square, the nerve centre of Lhasa.

Day 06: Sightseeing in Lhasa: After breakfast, your guide will take you on a tour to Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka and Jokhang temple. At the famous Drepung Monastery, you will get an insight into the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. It is the biggest monastic university of Lhasa, housing 7,700 monks in its heyday. You pay a visit to Norbulingka, the summer retreat of the Dalai Lama.  Jokhang temple provides yet another glimpse of the rich Tibetan cultural heritage. It is the holiest shrine of Tibet situated in the heart of Lhasa.

Day 07: Sightseeing in Lhasa: You will be escorted by your guide to the majestic Potala Palace. The imposing structure of the palace dominates the landscape of Lhasa. As you are guided through the ancient chambers of the palace, you get to see Tibetan art at its best. The Potala Palace has a vast array of intricate Tibetan murals and beautiful statues. You will also get to view the tombs of the eight Dalai Lamas. Later in the day you will visit the beautifully Sera Monastery where you can observe monks debating and performing religious discourses. After the tour, you are escorted back to your hotel.

Note: Since only a limited number of visitors are allowed inside the Potala palace every day, the order of sightseeing places will be decided upon by your guide.

Day 08: Drive to Gyantse (3950m) 260 kms: Moving along the Friendship Highway, you drive past Khamba La, at 4794 meter, with a brief halt to savor majestic views of Yamdrok-tso Lake and Nazin Kang Sa, standing at 7252m. On turning westwards, you come across another pass, Karo La at 5045m. If you look at the road, you can see huge glaciers tumbling down. After driving 260 km, beautifully landscaped Tibetan villages become visible as you enter the town of Gyantse.

Day 09: Drive to Shigatse (3900m) 90 kms: Gyantse prides on Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong, a 14th century historical fort, overlooks the entire Gyantse and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. Kumbum has a large gold-domed stupa and houses several chapels and Tibetan Buddhist murals. After exploring Gyantse, you take a 90 km drive and arrive at Shigatse, (3900m) the second largest Tibetan city. After lunch, visit Tashilumpu Monastery. Founded in 1447, Tashilumpu Monastery is a historic and culturally important monastery in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet.

Day 10: Drive to Lhasa (3600m) 250 kms: Today you will be driven back to Lhasa along the legendary Yalugzangbu River, the mother river of Tibet. You will reach Lhasa for lunch. After lunch you will have free time for wandering the town on your own.

Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu: Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be picked up at airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day in leisure.

Day 12: Depart from Kathmandu: Transfer to airport for your onward journey.

Everest Base Camp Extension

Day 09: Drive to Shegar (4050m) 335 kms: Gyantse prides on Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong, a 14th century historical fort, overlooks the entire Gyantse and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. Kumbum has a large gold-domed stupa and houses several chapels and Tibetan Buddhist murals. After exploring Gyantse, you take a 90 km drive and arrive at Shigatse,(3900m) the second largest Tibetan city. After lunch and a brief visit of Tashilhunpo Monastery at Shigatse, you will traverse along the Friendship Highway amidst picturesque landscape driving past small town of Lhatse and Gyatchu La pass at 5220m. As the route opens into plains, many monasteries and camps of nomadic herders become visible en route to Shegar.

Day 10: Shegar - Everest Base Camp – (5200m) – Shegar (4050m) 196 kms: Away from Shegar, you will drive to the south crossing Pang La pass at 5150m. Along the drive you can bask in the splendor of majestic views of snow-capped peaks from Makalu to Shishapangma.  After driving for about 2 ½ hours, you will reach Rongbuk Monastery at the foothills of Mt. Everest at 5000m. It is the highest monastery in the world. From here you can then view spectacular sight of Mount Everest. You will drive 8 kilometers further to Everest Base Camp (5200m.) The base camp itself is dry and barren, but the views of Everest more than compensates for it. It truly is an awe-inspiring place with the sheer north face of the highest mountain in the world towering above you. After spending some time at Base Camp, you will drive back to Shegar to spend the night.

Day 11: Drive to Shigatse (3900m) 245 kms: Drive to Shigatse, (3900m) - the second largest Tibetan city. Visit Tashilumpu Monastery in the afternoon. Founded in 1447, Tashilumpu Monastery is a historic and culturally important monastery in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet.

Day 12: Drive to Lhasa (3600m) 250 kms: Today you will be driven back to Lhasa along the legendary Yalugzangbu River, the mother river of Tibet. You will reach Lhasa for lunch. After lunch you will have free time for wandering the town on your own.
